You May Be Wondering…

People come to therapy for many different reasons, and there isn't a "right" reason to ask for help. Some people are feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, ADHD, or burnout. Others are struggling in their relationships, navigating a major life transition, or simply feeling stuck and wanting something to change.
Therapy provides a space to better understand yourself, develop healthier ways of coping, strengthen your relationships, and move toward the life you want to live. At Horn Counseling, we offer individual, couples, family, and group therapy, and we'll help connect you with the therapist who is the best fit for your unique goals and needs. Whether you're looking for support through a difficult season or hoping to create lasting change, we're here to help you take the next step.

Finding the right therapist is one of the most important parts of a successful therapy experience. That's why we don't expect you to figure it out on your own. After you complete our consultation form, our team will learn more about your goals, preferences, schedule, and insurance before helping match you with the therapist we believe is the best fit. If, at any point, it doesn't feel like the right fit, we'll help you explore other options within our team.

Therapy Should Be Accessible
We believe everyone deserves access to high-quality, compassionate mental health care. That's why Horn Counseling offers several ways to make therapy more affordable, whether you plan to use insurance or prefer to pay privately.
Private Pay
Private pay gives you the flexibility to choose the therapist who is the best fit for your goals without being limited by your insurance network. Session fees vary based on each therapist's credentials, experience, and specialty, with options available for a wide range of budgets.
Insurance & Employee Assistance Programs (EAP)
We work with many major insurance plans and Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs), including Aetna, BlueCross BlueShield, Cigna, Evernorth, Lyra, Optum, and UnitedHealthcare.
If your therapist is not in-network with your insurance plan, we're happy to provide a superbill, which you can submit to your insurance company to request any available out-of-network reimbursement. Because every plan is different, we recommend contacting your insurance provider before your first appointment to verify your mental health benefits.
Reduced-Cost Therapy
If you don't have insurance, have a high deductible, or are simply looking for a more affordable option, our therapist-in-training program provides reduced-cost therapy under the supervision of our licensed clinical team. Sessions begin at $25, making quality therapy more accessible while maintaining the high standard of care Horn Counseling is known for.
Ready to get started? Complete our consultation form, and we'll help you explore the option that best fits your needs, budget, and goals.

We believe therapy is one of the most meaningful investments you can make in yourself and your relationships. While it requires time, emotional energy, and financial commitment, the skills, insight, and healing you gain can have a lasting impact on every area of your life.
Therapy can help you better understand yourself, navigate difficult emotions, improve communication, strengthen relationships, heal from past experiences, and develop healthier ways of responding to life's challenges. For many people, it also provides a consistent place to feel heard, supported, and encouraged as they work toward meaningful change.
Everyone's journey is different, and there's no one-size-fits-all timeline for therapy. Whether you're looking for support through a difficult season or hoping to create lasting personal growth, our goal is to help you make the most of the time you spend with us and equip you with tools that continue to serve you long after each session ends.
-
The frequency of therapy depends on your goals, the challenges you're facing, and what feels manageable for your schedule. During your first few sessions, you and your therapist will work together to develop a plan that best supports your needs.
Many people begin with weekly sessions to build momentum, strengthen the therapeutic relationship, and make consistent progress. As you begin feeling more confident and your goals evolve, sessions often transition to every other week or less frequently.
There is no one-size-fits-all approach to therapy. We'll regularly check in about what's working and adjust your schedule as your needs change, helping you receive the right level of support at every stage of your journey.
-
Your privacy is one of our highest priorities. What you share in therapy is confidential, and we will not disclose your personal information to your employer, family members, partner, friends, or anyone else without your written permission.
There are a few limited exceptions required by law, such as situations involving an immediate risk of serious harm to yourself or someone else, suspected abuse or neglect of a child, older adult, or vulnerable person, or when disclosure is required by a valid court order or other legal obligation. If one of these situations arises, your therapist will make every effort to discuss it with you whenever it is safe and appropriate to do so.
If you'd like us to coordinate your care with another healthcare provider, family member, school, attorney, or another person you trust, we're happy to do so after you complete a written Release of Information authorizing us to share the information you choose.
If you have questions about confidentiality or its legal limits, your therapist will review them with you and make sure you feel informed before beginning treatment.
-
The length of therapy is different for everyone because every person's goals, experiences, and challenges are unique. Some people come to therapy to work through a specific concern over the course of a few months, while others choose to continue longer as they deepen personal growth, strengthen relationships, or maintain their mental well-being.
Early in therapy, you and your therapist will work together to identify your goals and create a plan that fits your needs. Throughout the process, you'll regularly review your progress, celebrate what's improving, and adjust your treatment plan as your goals evolve.
Our goal isn't to keep you in therapy longer than you need. It's to provide the support, insight, and practical tools that help you create meaningful, lasting change. If you're wondering what therapy might look like for your specific situation, complete our consultation form, and we'll help connect you with the therapist who is the best fit for your goals.

Your first session is an opportunity to get to know your therapist and talk about what brought you to therapy. You'll discuss your goals, ask any questions you have, and begin developing a plan together. There's no pressure to share everything at once. We move at a pace that feels comfortable for you.
-
Many of our clients are trying therapy for the first time. It's completely normal to feel nervous or unsure about what to expect. Our therapists strive to create a welcoming, judgment-free environment where you can ask questions, move at your own pace, and feel supported from your very first session.
-
Absolutely. Finding the right therapist is important, and sometimes it takes meeting someone to know whether the fit feels right. If you'd like to work with a different therapist on our team, we'll help make that transition as smooth as possible.

No. Many people come to therapy because they're feeling stressed, overwhelmed, stuck, or simply want to better understand themselves. You don't need a mental health diagnosis to benefit from therapy.
If you're using health insurance, however, most insurance companies require your therapist to assign a mental health diagnosis in order to cover therapy services. This diagnosis is used for billing purposes and does not define who you are or diminish the value of your experiences.
Whether you're working through a specific challenge or looking to improve your overall well-being, therapy can provide support, insight, and practical tools to help you move forward. Our therapists will help you understand your options and answer any questions you have about using insurance or paying privately.
-
Absolutely. Therapy isn't just for moments of crisis. Many people use therapy to strengthen relationships, improve communication, manage stress, increase self-awareness, build healthier habits, or continue growing personally and professionally. You don't have to wait until things feel overwhelming to benefit from support.
-
That's completely okay. Many people come to their first session unsure of where to begin. Your therapist will help guide the conversation, ask thoughtful questions, and create a space where you can explore what's been on your mind at a pace that feels comfortable. You don't need to have everything figured out before you start.
-
Therapy is a collaborative process, and finding the right fit matters. If something isn't working, we encourage you to talk openly with your therapist. Sometimes a small adjustment is all that's needed. If a different therapist on our team would better meet your needs, we'll help make that transition as smooth as possible.
